HDSR in the sea with three innovation partners to strengthen Lekdijk
Article about the project 'Sterke Lekdijk' in the Netherlands which is part of the Flood Protection Program (HWBP). The primary barrier no longer meets the new safety standards in the Water Act and will be reinforced over a length of 55 kilometers. The 'De Stichtse Rijnlanden Water Board' (HDSR) wants to engage three parties for the reinforcement of the Lekdijk. They will work together according to an innovation partnership. The aim is to carry out the improvement without emissions.

While sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) are a growing practice in city planning, an ideal solution for Frederiksberg’s dense city streets did not yet exist. As such, the municipality decided to use an innovation partnership approach to procure a customised solution.
