Learntech stakeholders from all 28 EU countries become LEA Followers

Digital technologies and ICT has the potential to revolutionise the way children are taught and learn, but to date, the availability and application of learntech in the classroom has been slow. The LEA Learntech Accelerator project aims to address this, by harnessing the power of public procurement of innovation (PPI) and pre-commercial procurement (PCP) to accelerate the purchase of innovative learning technology in European schools.

To do so, one of the aims of the LEA project has been to form a critical mass of learntech stakeholders from across Europe – including procurers, suppliers, learntech experts and schools – who were invited to observe the projects activities and results by becoming LEA Followers.

As of July 2019, over 350 learntech stakeholders have signed-up as LEA Followers, including Followers from all 28 Member States of the European Union. In addition, stakeholders from further afield are also taking note of the LEA project, attracting Followers from a further 17 countries across all six continents.

The wide geographical interest in learntech from both the demand-side (schools and procurers) and the supply-side (including many SMEs, start-ups and researchers), demonstrates that the conditions are ripe for the acceleration of learntech development and deployment in Europe.

For those wanting to take the next step in procuring innovative learntech, a LEA-Network (LEA-N) is now being formed, with opportunities to receive support, join upcoming European funded project, and much more.
