OECD Forum on Procurement for Innovation

OECD Forum on Procurement for Innovation

The OECD Forum will advance the policy debate on how to expand a strategic approach of using Public Procurement for Innovation and increase overall economic productivity. Governments increasingly recognise the potential of public procurement to stimulate innovation through research and development and the market uptake of innovative products and services.

Starting with a high-level debate, the Forum will provide the opportunity for policymakers, leaders in public procurement and business as well as stakeholders to share insights from policies and practices enabling the use of Public Procurement for Innovation. The results of our survey with the EU will support an evidence-based debate on the main challenges countries facing and good practices for transforming procurement into a strategic function for advancing innovation. Breakout sessions will reflect on key fields of action and demonstrate how much the use of Public Procurement for Innovation affects complementary policy objectives in public procurement, in particular sustainable development, energy saving and SME support.

The draft agenda of the Forum on Procurement for Innovation, the registration card and directions are available via the following link http://www.oecd.org/governance/procurement-innovation-forum.htm.

Please return the completed registration card at your earliest convenience by Monday September 12th at the latest to public.procurement@oecd.org as the number of participants is limited.
